Geof Ramsay is a New Brunswick based multi-disciplinary designer who specializes in furniture and product design. Geof's work considers the interplay of traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing techniques, and how their exchange can give form to the narratives that inspire his designs. His work brings together craft, technology and materiality through a uniquely modern Maritime lens. In 2013, he was named one of Canada’s top 10 emerging designers by Azure Magazine and was awarded best prototype for Hex Chair at the Toronto Interior Design Show ‘15. In addition to furniture and product design, Geof Ramsay has also been a collaborator for numerous interiors and design-based community initiatives – most recently designing a series of paper pulp benches for the Third Shift Art at Night exhibit in Saint John. His designs have been featured in publications worldwide such as Azure, Architect Magazine, Designboom, Dezeen and many more. Geof will be showcasing new work at the Interior Design Show ’16 and the Toronto Offsite Design Festival during Toronto Design Week January 18-24, 2016.
